Operation: Gift Wrap
Per ISB's Intel on a smuggling operation that they had uncovered, IHC forces moved into action on the rim world of Lok. Much to the pirate Lord Nym's displeasure, his space station was blockaded by elements of the 8th Fleet, while the 1st Lokian took up positions on the ground. This report will cover the actions of Bravo Patrol during this operation.
Unit Alpha AAR:
1SGT Elor Aisa
1st Lokian Platoon Commander, 1SGT Aisa, took the lead of Unit Alpha, responsible for protection of bridge leading to Nyms Stronghold. Orders were clear - establish checkpoint at Point 1, scan and identify all citizens approaching checkpoint, inspection of citizens and arresting suspects trying to get to the Nyms Stronghold. Immediately after the briefing, which took place in quite new 1st Lokian Platoon HQ in SH on Talus planet, all Units departed to Lok planet to begin the operation.
Unit Alpha, consisting of 1SGT Aisa, PFC Hammie, CDT Iseer and High Command Officer Apollo, arrived at checkpoint and started patroling and scaning of approaching citizens.
Four supspects for smuggling and crimes against the Empire were uncovered trying to enter the Stronghold by Unit Alpha. Suspects resisted arrest and we opened fire. Three bodies identified and confirmed while one body is missing.
Unit Alpha suffered no loses and returned the starport after the end of this operation.
I would like to commed both PFC Hammie and CDT Iseer from 1st Lokian Platoon and as well as Officer Apollo for their performance during the operation.
Unit Bravo AAR:
MSGT Bryce
Myself, PFC Belenia and PFC Umrra were assigned to patrol the northern half of the small settlement that has sprung up around Nym's stronghold. Though the streets were busy with citizens, there was little trouble at first. Most gave us little more than the cursory dirty glance, reinforcing that the rim worlds often hold little love for the peace and order that the Empire offers. Bravo proceeded to sweep the city two times with no problems. On our third sweep we encountered two Twi'leks and stopped them for a routine inspection. They claimed to be on Lok "touring out of the way romantic spots" and had recently come from Kor Vella. Despite some slight inconsistencies in their story, to which I attribute their distraction due to being "newly in love", their ID's checked out and they were allowed to pass. However, they were given warning that Lok is no place for "romantic tours" and encouraged to visit somewhere safer, like Naboo.
As we continued patrolling the city, we were attacked by a small force of Nym's pirates. I suspect that they did this on their own, without orders from Nym. Despite his lack of love for the Empire, Nym is not foolish enough to openly attack Imperial soldiers when his world is under blockade. The pirates were dealt with quickly and we continued on our path.
Further patrol resulted in the interception of a Sullustan that claimed he was on Lok to repair a broken droid. His demeanor was suspicious and his Identification did not check out. On further investigation we located the home of the man that he had been employeed by and confirmed the droid engineers story. He was allowed to proceed with the job he had been hired for.
As the patrol of the city concluded, and the blockade was lifted, we encountered one more citizen that passed inspection with no problems. Bravo Patrol met up with the rest of the 1st Lokian and left Nym's world, pretty much as we found it. Hot, dusty and miserable.
